The
fact that one too many unknown and inefficient actors are given
character roles in Telugu films, is giving discomfiture to Kota
Srinivasa Rao. Speaking at the audio release function of Swami
Sathyananda yesterday, he took a dig at this phenomenon and said that
Telugu people are not getting opportunities to act in Teugu films.
"One
can understand if a Naseeruddin Shah or Nana Patekar is roped in our
films. We are bringing in unknown faces into Tollywood. We teach them
how to act and we give them hefty remuneration. I am pained to think of
the fate of our future generations. We need to take care of the future
of our actors. There is an urgent need for the directors and producers
to think of protecting our interests."
Lest
his remarks are distorted, Kota was immediate to add that he was not
selfish in making the comments. He said that he will never
differentiate between big and small films.
